Workhorse implements product development and lifecycle management tools from Siemens

The Workhorse W56 step van

USAWorkhorse Group Inc of Cincinnati, Ohio says it has fully adopted the engineering software offered by Siemens Industry Software Inc – a subsidiary of Siemens AG based in Plano, Texas and trading under the name “Siemens Digital Industries Software” – for product development and lifecycle management of its medium-duty battery electric step van, the ‘W56’.

Workhorse says it launched production of its electric step van earlier this year with the help of tools provided by Siemens. These include: ‘Product Lifecycle Management’ software, using a digital twin of the vehicle to manage its design and sales over the course of its lifespan; and ‘Siemens NX’, a suite of tools for product design, engineering, and manufacturing.
