LGES to supply Ford E-Transit batteries from Poland

Ford E-Transit

Poland / South Korea / Turkey - South Korean battery manufacturer, LG Energy Solution (LGES), headquartered in Seoul, has signed an agreement to supply battery cells and modules for Ford Motor Company’s electrified commercial vans produced in Turkey for the European market, including the E-Transit.

The deal, understood to be worth KRW13trn (USD9.4bn), comes a year after the two companies decided to scrap plans to build a battery manufacturing joint venture in Turkey due to weakening demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in Europe.
