UK – Turnkey electrification companies have become a common sight at commercial vehicle shows. At Euro Bus Expo 2024, held between 12-14 November at the NEC in Birmingham, I spoke with a new name in the sector: VEV Services Ltd of London, incorporated two years ago and starting business at the beginning of last year.

VEV is the creation of Vitol, a Dutch energy and commodities company headquartered in Geneva. VEV’s CEO, Mansukhlal Nakrani, also sits on the board of another Vitol subsidiary, VG Mobility. VG Mobility supplied 406 electric buses and 21 chargers to TransMilenio, the bus rapid transit system in Bogotá, Colombia and owner of the second largest electric bus fleet in Latin America.1 Through its subsidiaries, Vitol has committed over USD2.5bn to sustainable energy investments to date.
