Allison Ventures invests in Californian AI software company

USA – Allison Ventures*, the venture capital (VC) arm of Allison Transmission Inc, a gearbox and e-Axle manufacturer based in Indianapolis, Indiana, has invested an undisclosed sum in Agtonomy, a California-based company specialising in AI-driven software and services that enable industrial machinery and vehicles to operate autonomously. Founded in 2021, Agtonomy integrates its technology into logistic and farming equipment, enabling the machines to be digitally controlled for tasks such as fleet management, which reduces labour costs and improves efficiency. Agtonomy said that the investment capital will be used to expand its pilot programme. Allison is planning to leverage the development of autonomy and connectivity in its own business.
