OHM, Ashok Leyland’s ebus facilitator, secures order for 500 electric buses from MTC

New Switch 12m ultra-low entry EiV122 electric buses

India – OHM Global Mobility Pvt Ltd (OHM)1 of Chennai, a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland and part of Switch Mobility Pvt Ltd has secured an order from the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) in Chennai for 500 electric 12-metre ultra-low entry EiV122 buses. Switch Mobility will supply these buses and all the necessary charging infrastructure to OHM, which will then operate them on designated routes under a gross cost contract (GCC).

The electric buses are designed to seat 37 passengers with 24 standing passengers, and have a designed range of more than 200 kilometres on a single charge.
