Volvo launches pilot of self-driving truck with DHL in Texas

Volvo VNL Autonomous truck working for DHL Supply Chain

USA – A truck installed with autonomous driving technology has been handed over by Volvo Group North America Inc of Greensboro, North Carolina to the supply chain division of logistics giant DHL, which will use it in pilot operations in the state of Texas.

The ‘VNL’ truck will haul freight along two road networks: between Dallas and Houston and between Fort Worth and El Paso. A safety driver will sit in to monitor the truck as part of Volvo’s validation of the technology. The operation will be led by dealer Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment.
