Mahle to reduce number of business units from five to three

Mahle's reduced management board

Germany – Components supplier Mahle GmbH of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, has announced a corporate restructure, merging four of its business units into two and downsizing its management board from seven to four members.

The company’s “Engine Systems and Components” and “Electronics and Mechatronics” divisions will be merged into a single business unit called “Powertrain and Charging”, led by Georg Dietz. In addition, the “Filtration and Engine Peripherals” and “Thermal Management” divisions will become a single unit, “Thermal and Fluid Systems”, led by Jumana Al-Sibai. Moreover, the Aftermarket business unit will be renamed “Lifecycle and Mobility”. By merging its business units, Mahle aims not only to reduce its costs but also to create synergies between formerly separate parts of its product development.
