Crossway Elec high-floor version

France / Italy – At the Autocar Expo in Lyon, Iveco Bus (a brand of the Iveco Group NV) based in Turin, unveiled the Crossway Elec, the new electric version of the Class II bus. Series production is set for Q1 2025 at its Vysoke Myto plant in the Czech Republic. Available in two main versions (a 12 and a 13-metre variant),  these buses are designed for urban, intra-urban and intercity missions. Passenger capacity scales from 57 to 63 in the long version.

The models use modular NMC lithium battery technology developed by FPT Industrial, (a subsidiary of the Iveco Group) offering configurations with 3, 4, 5 or 6 battery packs (69 kWh each). Depending on the configuration, the battery capacity ranges from 346 kWh to 485 kWh, providing a range of 400 to 500 kilometres, suitable for urban and intercity routes. The buses are equipped with a 290 kW Cummins (formerly Siemens) ELFA III electric motor delivering 3000 Nm of torque. Charging options include a CCS2 depot charger and optional pantograph charging systems.
