Fuso, Yamanashi university collaborate in zero-emission technologies

Mitsubishi-Fuso eCanter first launched in 2017

Japan - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), headquartered in Kawasaki City in Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture, has signed a comprehensive agreement with the National University Corporation University of Yamanashi, located in Kofu City in Yamanashi Prefecture, to conduct joint research into renewable energy technologies - particularly hydrogen fuel cells, in order to “create solutions for energy conservation, global warming and a sustainability society.” As part of the agreement, the two partners will also foster the academic development of students and researchers at the university.

MFTBC stated that it aims to offer a full line-up of carbon-neutral new vehicles in Japan by 2039, including hydrogen fuel cell and battery electric vehicles, a programme which started with the launch of its electric light-duty eCanter truck in 2017.
