UTAC test track in Finland

France / FinlandUTAC Group of Linas, France has opened three new test tracks in Finland, expanding its capability to assess handling, steering, and tyre performance on ice and snow.

Three new outdoor tracks have been opened at the company’s dedicated cold-weather facilities, located within the Arctic Circle. At the Mellatracks location, a 600m by 40m “snow flat”, a 200m-diameter “snow and ice circle”, and a 1,750m “snow handling track” have been added. On the 600-metre flat, UTAC can take “precise” assessments of tyres, brakes, and traction systems. On the circle, it can assess handling, steering, and transmission performance. Finally, on the 1,750-metre long track, more detailed evaluations of tyre performance and vehicle dynamics can be made.
