USA – This year, Mack Trucks Inc, a subsidiary of Volvo based in Greensboro, North Carolina, is celebrating its 125th anniversary since its foundation by the Mack brothers, John and Augustus, in Brooklyn, New York.

The company is celebrating the many milestones and achievements it has made over its storied history. In the 1920s, it pioneered the concept of an integrated powertrain, combining the engine, transmission, and axles in a single system; in the 1930s, it introduced power brakes and power-assisted steering; and more recently, in 2016, it became the first North American truck manufacturer to offer low reduction creeper gear ratios in a proprietary automated manual transmission (the 13-speed ‘mDrive HD’). Mack trucks were used in the reinforcement of the Brooklyn Bridge, the construction of the Hoover Dam, and the laying of the Pan-American Highway.
