Enviro100AEV bus unveiling at ADL's Farnborough site
UK – Alexander Dennis Ltd, a subsidiary of the NFI Group based in Larbert, UK, unveiled an autonomous bus at its Farnborough site on 27 January, which was developed as part of a government-funded project with self-driving hardware and software specialists Fusion Processing Ltd.
The vehicle in question is a battery electric ‘Enviro100’ which has been retrofitted with Fusion’s ‘CAVstar’ automated driving system. The bus is now being tested in order to calibrate and fine tune the self-driving system before it is put into service. Once the fine-tuning phase is completed, it will begin transporting passengers around the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. A safety driver will be on board to monitor the vehicle.
