Scania to acquire systems industrial division of Northvolt

Sweden – Northvolt AB, a manufacturer of lithium battery cells based in Stockholm, Sweden, has announced it will sell its heavy industry and off-highway business to commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania AB for an undisclosed price.
Northvolt announced that it signed a sale and purchase agreement to sell its systems industrial division. Included in the transaction are a battery systems prototyping facility in Stockholm and a cell production facility in Gdańsk, Poland, which employ a total of approximately three hundred employees. Northvolt says the transfer of the systems industrial division’s assets should not impact its operations or its planned deliveries for the current year.
