Isuzu to build new truck plant in USA

Isuzu’s planned truck plant in South Carolina

USA / Japan - Isuzu Motors Ltd, headquartered in Yokohama in Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture, announced plans to build a new production facility in South Carolina, USA, in preparation for the expected rise in demand for electrified commercial vehicles in North America.

The Japanese truck-maker confirmed that it plans to invest around US$280 million in the new facility, with completion scheduled for 2027. The plant is expected to have an annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles by 2030, employing some 700 people.
