Sono Motors receives national road approval in Germany for Solar Bus Kit

Germany – Sono Motors GmbH of Munich, Bavaria became the first company in Germany to receive national road approval for its retrofit solar technology for reducing emissions and fuel/energy consumption in buses.
The company received a general operating permit or ‘ABE’ certificate from the German authorities for its ‘Solar Bus Kit’, a retrofit solution which runs heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning off of solar panels fitted on the roof of the bus. It was tested by the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt or federal motor transport authority and TÜV to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
