Germany – The Eberspächer Group, headquartered in Esslingen am Neckar, has entered into a strategic partnership with Frickenhausen-based Farasis Energy Europe GmbH* to develop and industrialise lithium-ion battery systems for automotive use. The collaboration focuses on high-performance 12-volt and 48-volt battery packs, aiming to replace traditional lead-acid systems used in both passenger and diesel ICE trucks. Farasis Energy is a Chinese battery manufacturer with expertise in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pouch-cell technology, offering long life cycles, fast charging and strong thermal stability.

Under the terms of the agreement, Eberspächer and Farasis will co-develop and manufacture advanced 12-volt and 48-volt battery packs tailored for starter, backup, and mild-hybrid applications. These lithium-ion systems are positioned as next-generation alternatives to conventional lead-acid batteries and will feature Eberspächer’s proprietary battery management systems (BMS), hardware integration, and safety software aligned with ASIL-C automotive standards. Farasis will contribute its cell technology, module design, and manufacturing capacity. Together, they will offer a modular, scalable and robust battery platform designed to meet the increasing power demands of modern vehicles.
