UK DAF Trucks UK Ltd has opened a new training facility in Nottingham, the DAF Apprentice Academy. The GBP 3.5 million investment opened its doors on February 13 and will exclusively train apprentices for the DAF brand, with 500 individuals confirmed to attend courses in its first year, ensuring the company has enough skilled technicians to service its vehicles in the UK. The facility boasts an 18-bay workshop equipped with advanced tooling and equipment, 11 fully equipped classrooms, and a cafeteria accommodating up to 100 individuals. The academy offers specialised training across various disciplines, including Technician Training, Parts and Service Training, Business Administration, and Departmental Management. This new facility marks a significant milestone for DAF Trucks, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of their Apprenticeship Programme in 2025.
