Britain’s bus and coach market experienced best year since 2008, according to 2024 registrations

UK – The British bus and coach market saw massive growth of 70.1% from 4,932 in 2023 to 8,390 registrations in 2024; the best annual performance since 2008, according to statistics published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The growth was chiefly led by the minibus market, which expanded by 102.5% to 4,816 registrations – accounting for more than half of the entire sector. The double deck segment also performed well, with 69.6% growth to 1,601 registrations in 2024. The single deck segment increased by 22.5% to 1,973 registrations.
