Germany – Mercedes-Benz Group AG of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg has announced that its upcoming van platform will include a combustion-engine variant as well as the pure-electric version which was first announced in 2022.
The automotive manufacturer has announced the ‘VAN.CA’, or “Van Combustion Architecture”, will be launched following the introduction of the ‘VAN.EA’, or “Van Electric Architecture”, in 2026. Both variants will share a single vehicle architecture, with a 70% commonality of parts, and will be produced in series on the same lines across Mercedes factories in Europe.
