Toyota unveils new hydrogen fuel cell system

Toyota’s new hydrogen fuel cell system for heavy-duty trucks

Japan - Toyota Motor Corporation, headquartered in Aichi Prefecture, Japan has unveiled a new generation of hydrogen fuel cell (FC) system – developed mainly for heavy-duty trucks and buses and off-road machinery. Other possible applications include trains and stationary power generators.

Toyota’s third-generation FC system was introduced to the public at the H2 & FC EXPO (International Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Expo) in Tokyo, Japan, in February. The company claims it is twice as durable as its predecessor and is at least as durable as equivalent diesel engines currently in use. It will be available with a maintenance-free design.
