Germany – German components supplier Mahle GmbH of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg has received its first series order for a cooling module which will be installed in megawatt charging systems for fast recharging of heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

Mahle says it will supply its cooling systems to a European cable manufacturer and outfitter of megawatt chargers, who reportedly chose Mahle’s product due to its high performance and cost efficiency. 3.75-MW charging systems can generate as much as 8 kilowatts of waste heat; with up to four heat exchangers connected in series, the amount of waste heat can be significantly reduced.
