Scania launches new e-machine for electric buses

New Scania e-machine for electric buses

SwedenScania AB, a subsidiary of Traton based in Södertälje, Sweden, has launched a new “e-machine” for electric buses, expanding the range of power and battery options it can offer to customers.

The e-machine is a system that integrates the motor, gearbox, inverter, and two oil pumps in a single unit. Customers may now select the following power ratings: 240 kW, 270 kW, 300 kW, and 330 kW. Moreover, the transmission can be specified as a two-speed or a four-speed gearbox.
