Volvo launches BRT electric bus in Mexico

The bi-articulated 7800 Electric by Volvo

Sweden / MexicoVolvo Bus Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden has launched an articulated bus – designed for bus rapid transit routes and based on its latest electric platform – which will be made and sold in Mexico.

The ‘Volvo 7800 Electric’ is a range of articulated and bi-articulated buses intended for dedicated bus lanes in urban transport networks. The bi-artic version measures 25.6 metres in length and can carry up to 300 passengers, whereas the artic carries up to 191. Both models will have an energy capacity of 250 kWh. Volvo says that the 7800 Electric will also come standard with its latest active safety systems such as collision avoidance and mitigation.
