Kempower piloting underground charging solutions for trucks in France

Kempower underground charging solutions

France / Finland – Finnish electric charging provider Kempower OYJ, based in Lahti, Finland, has teamed up with French infrastructure creation partner, Proviridis SAS*, to implement underground charging systems for electric trucks at a Proviridis truck station in Saint Quentin Fallavier, France. This collaboration involves installing Kempower's charging equipment below ground, effectively preserving parking space at logistics depots. The underground setup utilises Kempower's Control Unit, which connects to a 600kW Power Unit installed above ground which can charge up to eight trucks simultaneously. If successful, Proviridis plans to expand the deployment of these underground charging stations across France.

*Founded in 2012, the Proviridis group sets up innovative infrastructures for the distribution of clean fuels and energies: BioNGV, Electricity and Hydrogen.
