USAPaccar subsidiaries Kenworth Truck Company and Peterbilt Motors Company have announced that their heavy-duty truck lines will now be offered with advanced driver assistance systems supplied by Bendix, including the latest collision mitigation systems.

The Peterbilt ‘Model 579’ and Kenworth ‘T680’ will now be offered with the latest Bendix ‘Fusion’ package, which uses a forward-facing camera to enable collision mitigation systems such as “pedestrian automatic emergency braking”. The ADAS package also includes a new “high beam assist”, which automatically shifts from the highest beam setting when required. These additions are combined with older features such as automatic emergency braking, active cruise control, lane departure warnings, and driver drowsiness detection.
