Germany / SwedenPutzmeister Holding GmbH, a subsidiary of Sany Group based in Aichtal, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, has entered into an agreement with Swedish steelmaker SSAB AB for the supply of fossil-free steel for its products, including its concrete pump trucks and concrete mixers.

SSAB has agreed to supply Putzmeister with steel which has been produced through its patented ‘Hybrit’ process. Developed in partnership with mining company LKAB and energy company Vattenfall, the Hybrit process replaces coking coal, which is conventionally used to make steel, with green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity, thus largely eliminating the CO2 emissions associated with the production process.
