USA – Daimler Truck North America (DTNA), based in Portland, Oregon, has recently implemented Allison Transmission’s FuelSense 2.0 Neutral at Stop technology* as a standard feature in several of its Freightliner and Western Star truck models. Because Fuel Sense 2.0 is for use with Allison transmissions only, these trucks will be fitted with Allison’s transmissions. The FuelSense 2.0 enhances fuel efficiency and lowers emissions by reducing engine load when the vehicle is idle. This longstanding partnership between DTNA and Allison Transmission reinforces their dedication to improving vehicle efficiency and promoting sustainability in the commercial trucking industry.

The technology will now be included in the Freightliner M2 106 Plus, 108SD Plus, 114SD Plus, EconicSD, and the Western Star 47X and 49X models. Mary Aufdemberg, General Manager at DTNA, emphasised that the adoption of Allison’s Neutral at Stop feature aligns with DTNA’s commitment to helping fleets reduce fuel consumption and emissions, particularly benefiting vehicles that operate in frequent stop-and-go conditions.
