USA / Canada – Through its U.S. subsidiary, (GreenPower Manufacturing WV Inc, Rancho Cucamonga, California), electric-powered medium and heavy-duty vehicle manufacturer, GreenPower Motor Company Inc, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State of New Mexico to initiate an electric school bus pilot project across various school districts. Under this agreement, New Mexico intends to secure USD 5 million to fund the purchase of zero-emission school buses, install charging stations, and cover the necessary management costs for the trial, which is scheduled to commence during the 2026-2027 academic year. The primary objective of this pilot is to assess the viability and reliability of fast-charging electric school buses. Upon successful completion of the project, the MOU outlines the state's intention to pursue an additional USD 15 million to acquire more school buses. This will aid GreenPower’s expansion into the State of New Mexico and across the U.S. electric school bus market.
