Netherlands – Moving floor trailer specialist Knapen Trailers BV (a subsidiary of the Krone Group) of Deurne has tweaked its product offerings to include a Tyre Pressure Regulation System (TPRS) to meet tyre pressure regulation changes that came into effect in July last year. New European legislation mandates tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) for all new commercial vehicles, including trailers, requiring real-time alerts for pressure changes exceeding 20%.

The Knapen system continuously monitors and maintains optimal tyre pressure, even while the vehicle is in motion. By utilising the trailer's existing pneumatic system, TPRS ensures that tyres remain at the preset pressure, enhancing safety and efficiency. In the event of a sudden loss of pressure, the system alerts the driver in real time and automatically inflates the tyre sufficiently to allow safe travel to a maintenance facility. Knapen says the integration of TPRS into its trailers demonstrates its commitment to enhancing vehicle performance and safety through technological advancements.
