Lithuania – The founder of ‘Dancer Bus’, Alvydas Naujekas, (UAB Vėjo Projektai, a group of companies based in Klaipeda, Lithuania.1) announced on LinkedIn that the company has started bankruptcy proceedings after facing a series of financial and operational challenges. Naujekas said that the company was unprepared for the financial disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and didn’t receive the necessary financial support from the government. In 2022, Dancer Bus secured a EUR 1.8 million loan from investment fund NuCapital, using its planned factory and equipment as collateral. However, relations between the two parties deteriorated. Naujekas accused NuCapital of obstructing new investment efforts and attempting to seize control of the company's assets, while NuCapital maintained it was simply seeking to recover its loan.

At Busworld 2023 in Brussels, the company unveiled its lightweight 12-metre battery-electric bus featuring a distinctive arched design and composite body made from recycled materials. The bus, weighing 8.6 tonnes, offered two battery options: fast-charging LTO (100 km range) and long-range NMC (up to 530 km). Powered by a ZF electric axle, the bus supported a low-floor layout and uses mostly European-sourced components.
