Scania to launch 11-litre version in ‘Super’ engine series

The Super 11 from Scania

SwedenScania AB, a subsidiary of Traton based in Södertälje, Sweden, has announced that it will launch an 11-litre version of the ‘Super’ engine in June, providing what it calls “a lighter, more efficient solution for high-performance transport”.

The ‘Super 11’ is based heavily on the 13-litre engine which was launched in 2021, sharing 85% of its parts. However, it is also 85 kilograms lighter than the ‘Super 13’ while delivering a 7% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to the 9-litre version. It is therefore aimed at weight-sensitive applications where both high performance and energy efficiency are paramount, according to Scania.
