BorgWarner expands footprint in North America with advanced wastegate turbo technology contract

Wastegate turbo technology

USA – CV powertrain components giant, BorgWarner Inc of Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA, has announced it has signed an extension of supply agreements with a major North American OEM, to supply its advanced wastegate turbocharger technology for a range of midsize gasoline engines deployed in SUVs and light-duty trucks. These vehicles are expected to continue rolling off production lines until 2028. With new business wins in North America and a robust portfolio serving a global customer base, BorgWarner is poised to remain a key player in the evolving commercial vehicle landscape, both in conventional powertrains and the transition to cleaner mobility.

In the commercial vehicle segment, BorgWarner's wastegate turbochargers serve diesel engines from 4.5 to 16 litres and support output ranges between 20 and 600 kW. These turbos are built to handle the demands of heavy-duty trucks, off-highway equipment, agricultural machinery, and marine applications.
