USA – Last month, automotive parts supplier Tenneco Inc introduced a new “low emission brake” technology for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles that it claims will reduce particulate emissions in line with upcoming regulations.

The new brake technology came about, according to Tenneco, as the result of “an intensive development program involving the company’s global network of friction research laboratories, advanced testing capabilities and innovative expert groups”. For light commercial vehicles, Tenneco claims that its brake technology will meet the requirements of Euro 71, which take effect in 2026, and China 72, which should be finalised before the end of the year.
