ADL production sites in Scotland at risk following proposal to consolidate bus body production

Inside ADL production facility in Falkirk, Scotland

UKAlexander Dennis Ltd, a bus and coach manufacturer and subsidiary of the NFI Group, has launched a consultation on the future of its manufacturing activities in Britain, proposing to shut down its facilities in Scotland and consolidate its body production in Scarborough.

The company’s proposal would bring an end to bus bodybuilding at the Larbert and Falkirk plants, putting up to 400 jobs at risk, or approximately 22% of the current workforce. Bus body production would transfer to the Scarborough plant in England, where subsidiary Plaxton already produces bodywork for buses and coaches.
