Mullen to give up Mishawaka plant as part of legal settlement

Mishawaka plant formerly owned by Mullen

USAMullen Automotive Inc, an electric vehicle manufacturer based in Brea, California, has agreed to transfer ownership of its Mishawaka facility to GEM Group as part of a settlement to resolve a four-year legal battle.

The 650,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Mishawaka, Indiana was acquired by Mullen in November 2022 when it bought the assets of erstwhile manufacturer ‘Electric Last Mile Solutions’. Production of Bollinger’s SUV and pickup truck ranges as well as Mullen’s own SUV product was planned at Mishawaka. The loss of the Mishawaka plant apparently will not affect production of Mullen’s commercial vehicles, which are made at a separate location in Tunica, Mississippi.
