McNeilus modernises side loader production line at Dodge Center facility

USA – In May, McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing Inc, a subsidiary of Oshkosh, announced the continuation of its programme of modernisation at its manufacturing facility in Dodge Center, Minnesota, expanding its side loader production line with “Industry 4.0” technology.
The side loader refuse body line is the second to be overhauled with new production technology, following the modernisation of the company’s rear loader line in 2023. McNeilus reported that it stripped the plant down to bare concrete and repainted it inside and out, before installing new robotic paint systems and its new manufacturing execution system. This system is intended to track every build stage and provide end-to-end traceability for every body produced on the line.
