Germany / Turkey – At the UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Hamburg (June 15 – 18), Turkish manufacturer Karsan Otomotiv Sanayii ve Tic. A.Ş, based in Bursa, unveiled its new e-ATA LE (class 2) electric bus designed for the urban and short intercity bus market. The vehicle’s deployment is planned for a range of continental European markets, where demand for medium-to-long-range, low-entry electric buses is rising rapidly.

According to Karsan, the e‑ATA LE will enter series production later this year at the company’s Hasanağa manufacturing facility in Bursa, Turkey. Built to meet the evolving demands of European transport operators, the 12.2-metre e‑ATA LE can accommodate up to 90 passengers, including 41 seats and offers a range of up to 500 kilometres on a single charge thanks to its maximum battery capacity of 528 kWh. Power is delivered via a 250 kW ZF AxTrax electric axle, chosen for its proven efficiency in CV applications. This electric drivetrain enables smooth, quiet operation and strong torque delivery, critical for both urban acceleration and interurban cruising.
