MAN and Volvo secure large bus orders for Dubai

MAN and United Motors sign bus contract with the Roads & Transport Authority of Dubai at UITP

United Arab Emirates – German manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus SE and Swedish manufacturer Volvo Bus Corporation have separately announced large orders for diesel buses from the Roads & Transport Authority, the state-owned organisation responsible for public transportation in the emirate of Dubai.

From MAN, the authority has ordered four hundred 12-metre buses from the ‘Lion’s City’ range, which will be powered by MAN’s ‘D1156’ Euro 6 engine. Each bus will have thirty-five seats and advanced driver assistance systems such as electronic stability, lane departure warning, collision warning, emergency brake assist, and turn assist. Deliveries will begin in October of this year, with the first buses slated to enter service from January 2026.
