Australia / Finland – As a sign of its global expansion, Finnish electric charging provider, Kempower OYJ, based in Lahti, Finland, has won a major supply contract to deliver electric bus charging infrastructure for what is set to become one of Australia’s largest electric bus depots. Located in Bayswater, Perth, the depot will support 132 zero-emission buses when it begins operations in mid-2026. The project is being led by the Public Transport Authority (PTA) of Western Australia, with Kempower partnering alongside Australian firms Charge Hub, Addelec, and Swan Group to deliver and install the depot’s charging systems. Kempower’s “modular DC charging technology will enable smart energy management across the depot’s fleet, with capacity to expand and support up to 180 electric buses over time”. Charge Hub will oversee technical compliance and commissioning, while Addelec and Swan Group will handle site construction and system integration.
