Düsseldorf hydrogen refuelling station
Germany – Germany’s most powerful hydrogen refuelling station has commenced operations in Düsseldorf’s Höherweg district. Developed by H2 MOBILITY alongside Rheinbahn and Stadtwerke Düsseldorf, with funding totalling EUR 3.137 million under Germany’s National Innovation Programme Phase 2 and coordinated by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, the site delivers up to five tonnes of certified renewable hydrogen per day, servicing fuel cell trucks and buses operating in the area.
Engineered for high demand, the facility can simultaneously refuel three vehicles at pressures of 350, 500, and 700 bar, meeting the needs of fuel‑cell buses, trucks, light‑commercial vehicles, and passenger cars. Plans are in place for an on‑site 2 MW electrolyser, powered by waste-to-energy electricity, to begin operations in 2026.
