UK – Bristol-based self-driving developer Fusion Processing Ltd has announced its involvement in two new projects: one for driverless operations inside a bus depot and another for automating trucks used in road safety and maintenance.
The first project, which began on 1 June, will see two Alexander Dennis buses retrofitted with Fusion’s ‘CAVstar’ automated driving system and deployed in two London bus depots. During live operations, these buses will be trialled in typical manoeuvres, moving in and out of cleaning bays, charging spots, and overnight parking positions. The trials will last ten months with “no user in charge”, with the onboard driver replaced by a remote operator interface to oversee the operations.
