UK – Tyre re-tread company Bandvulc Tyres Ltd, a UK-based subsidiary of Continental AG of Hanover, Germany, has expanded the size range of its fifth-generation Wastemaster 5 retread tyre, introducing a 315/70 high-load fitment. Originally launched in 2021, this additional dimension was officially announced last month. All retreading is carried out at the ContiLifeCycle facility in Ivybridge, Devon, where Bandvulc and ContiRe hot-retread tyres are developed and produced.

The new 315/70 specification boasts an enhanced high load rating, specifically designed to meet the heavier-weight requirements of urban waste collection vehicles. By broadening the size offering, Bandvulc aims to serve fleets that handle more demanding urban waste assignments with greater load demands and rugged terrain exposure. According to the company, “the Wastemaster 5’s design, with its ARMORBAND sidewall reinforcement, advanced zig-zag tread grooves, stone ejection features, stepped blocks and deep siping, is tailored to boost resilience, mileage and uptime in these conditions”.
