Isuzu and Volvo sign agreement to co-develop medium-duty truck platform

Japan / Sweden - Japanese truck-maker Isuzu Motors Ltd, headquartered in Yokohama, and Sweden’s Volvo Group have signed a new strategic partnership for the joint development of a common platform for medium-duty trucks for sale in markets across Asia, including Japan. The partnership is to use key technologies provided by the Volvo Group.

Isuzu confirmed that the deal, which will run for a minimum of 20 years, is built on the strategic partnership framework agreement originally signed in October 2020. The aim is to help the two companies make the most of the opportunities, and deal with the challenges, of the logistics industry of the future, to “maximize value and benefits for customers as well as for society.”
