UK— In mid-July, Fleete* (Fleete Group Limited) officially broke ground on its electric commercial vehicle (CV) charging hub at the Port of Tilbury**, set to become the largest of its kind in the UK. With the hub scheduled to open by December this year, the hub will feature a 5-megawatt (MW) shared-user facility designed to support more than 60 commercial fleet operators based at the port, as well as HGVs passing through the area.

The hub will include 16 high-capacity charging bays with 12 ultra-fast chargers (supplied by Heliox), each delivering up to 360 kW, as well as four megawatt chargers funded through the eFREIGHT 2030 project aimed at decarbonising the heavy-duty transport sector in the UK. GBP 1 million has been allocated through the UK government's Thames Freeport seed capital programme, with additional investment provided by Fleete through private capital.
