Phinia finalises acquisition of Sweden’s SEM

USA / Sweden – Phinia Inc has completed its acquisition of Svenska Elektromagneter AB (SEM), a Swedish ignition systems manufacturer focused on alternative fuels. The deal closed in early August 2025 for SEK452 million (USD47 million), as previously announced.

SEM, founded in 1915, develops ignition systems and sensors for engines using natural gas, hydrogen, and other diesel alternatives. It operates facilities in Sweden, China, and the U.S., all of which are now part of Phinia’s global operations.
