Fuso and Iwatani partner to pioneer liquid hydrogen refuelling for commercial trucks in Japan

Japan Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (“Fuso”, a Daimler Truck subsidiary), headquartered in Kawasaki in Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture, and Tokyo-based energy specialist Iwatani Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly explore and advance subcooled liquid hydrogen (sLH₂) refuelling technology* for hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles in Japan.

Under this partnership, Fuso and Iwatani will jointly research the technical, regulatory, and commercial framework for deploying this infrastructure across Japan. Activities include station design, certification, business modelling, and co-marketing to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen trucks and refuelling networks.
