South Korea / UK – South Korean energy tech company, Doosan Fuel Cell Co Ltd of Iksan-si, Jeollabuk State, South Korea is set to begin commercial production of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) using Ceres Power Holdings plc, proprietary IP in late 2025. This marks a key milestone for Ceres, as it signals the first royalty-generating manufacturing of its high-efficiency fuel cell stacks in Asia. The production facility, also located in Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do, will initially focus on stationary power applications, including distributed energy systems and data centre backup. Doosan plans to scale to hundreds of megawatts in annual capacity, leveraging Ceres' high-temperature, fuel-flexible SOFC technology to meet growing demand for clean, resilient, and decentralised power solutions in Korea and beyond.
