Hankook to make truck and bus tyres in the USA
USA / South Korea - Tyre manufacturer, Hankook Tire & Technology Company Ltd, headquartered in Seongnam, South Korea is expanding its production capacity in the USA by adding a production line for truck and bus tyres at its plant in Clarksville, Tennessee, according to local reports. The plant was originally opened in 2017 and currently has a production capacity of 5.5 million passenger car and light truck tyres per year.
The new production line, expected to become operational by the fourth quarter of this year, is being built mainly in response to the recent hikes in US import tariffs. The reports suggest that the company is looking to add three new truck tyre ranges at its US plant - the AL52, DL52, and TL52 - for sale mainly in the USA.
