USA – Components manufacturer Hendrickson International of Woodridge, Illinois, has advanced its STEERTEK NXT steer axle line, adding new applications through 2025. The latest version, manufactured in the U.S., is now available on International Motors LLC, a subsidiary of Traton’s RH, LT and MV trucks and IC Bus, CE school buses, significantly reducing weight compared to previous models. Warranty coverage has also been extended to 5 years/750,000 miles (1.2 million km) for key components.

In June, Blue Bird buses adopted the lightweight axle within Hendrickson’s SOFTEK and AIRTEK suspension systems, improving payload flexibility. The following month, a higher-capacity version launched for fire and rescue chassis, including Pierce (Pierce Manufacturing Inc, a subsidiary of Oshkosh), HME and E-One, offering tighter turning, improved ride comfort and reduced maintenance in 16,000–24,000 lb capacities.
