Cenex 2025: ULEMCo presents hydrogen-electric hybrid truck

RAF truck converted by ULEMCo at Cenex 2025

UKULEMCo Ltd, the Liverpool-based specialist in dual-fuel vehicle conversions, presented its first hybrid project – a truck running on a combination of battery power and hydrogen – at Cenex Expo, held at the Millbrook Proving Ground between 3-4 September.

The truck in question is a former aircraft refueller donated by the Royal Air Force, which is supporting ULEMCo in its conversion project. The diesel powertrain was replaced with an electric one, plus a Ford petrol engine which ULEMCo converted to run entirely on hydrogen. The hybrid powertrain works in series, with the engine being used to recharge the batteries.
